The EB-5 visa is a United States visa program that provides a path to permanent U.S. residency to qualifying foreign investors and their families. By investing a minimum of US$800,000 in targeted high unemployment areas (TEA’s) or $1,050,000 in businesses through a USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) approved EB-5 Regional Center Projects, the EB-5 investor can obtain a conditional two year green card. During this two year conditional period, the EB-5 visa holder enjoys all the benefits and advantages of U.S. residency allowing the investor and his immediate family to enjoy the full benefits of living and working in the United States.
The EB-5 investment is required to be maintained for a minimum of two years and create at least 10 full time permanent jobs for U.S. workers. If these criteria are met, an unconditional or permanent green card will be issued.
